Your tablet, as your Mac’s second screen.

Let your Android / HarmonyOS tablet be a smooth second display at up to 120Hz and 10-bit HDR — and drive your Mac from it. Plug the cable in and it runs: no developer settings to switch on, no ADB to install. Wi-Fi works too.

Open test — anyone can install it, and it’s free during the test. Start from the Download section.

Codeyzer Screen running on a tablet
Why it exists

The gap between your Mac and your Android tablet.

Hardware makers’ own second-screen features stay inside their own ecosystems — each one works only with that maker’s devices.

For someone holding a Mac and an Android / HarmonyOS tablet, none of them applies. Codeyzer Screen was written for exactly that gap.

Three differences

Panel, setup, control.

It uses the whole panel you already own, sets up by plugging in a cable, and lets you drive the Mac from over there.

All of your panel

Hardware-accelerated HEVC at up to 2.8K, 120Hz and 10-bit HDR color — as far as your panel goes.

  • Up to 120Hz — measured from the tablet’s real decode rates, and the refresh ladder is built from those.
  • 10-bit HDR color — dark gradients stay smooth (true HDR10 or compatible HLG).
  • It tunes itself — on connect it measures the smoothest settings for your device and saves them to that tablet.

Plug in the cable, it runs

Setup is plugging in a cable: no Developer Options to enable, no ADB to install, no menus to dig through.

  • Plug-and-play over USB — via AOA (Android Open Accessory), without Developer Options or ADB.
  • Wi-Fi — finds the Mac on the same network by itself; with the Mac on Ethernet it gets close to cable-grade smoothness.
  • Away from home — through your own Tailscale account, all from inside the app.

Drive it, don’t just watch it

The tablet does more than receive a picture. Touchpad, keyboard, your finger and your pen all land on the Mac.

  • Trackpad gestures flow — Spaces and Mission Control move with your fingers, and you can change your mind mid-gesture.
  • Keyboards land one-to-one — external and folio keyboards; the on-screen keyboard draws the Mac’s active layout and type (ANSI/ISO/JIS).
  • Touch and pen — pressure, tilt, eraser tip, barrel button and palm rejection.
In the box

The things you notice day to day.

All of it is shipping and verified on real devices.

Outside the display limit

The tablet attaches as a virtual display, so it doesn’t count toward your Mac’s external monitor limit. Even on a MacBook that supports one monitor, it is added next to it.

Sound from the tablet

Your Mac’s audio goes to the tablet; each tablet shows up as its own output device in macOS, and the volume can be set from the tablet too.

Connect from anywhere

The stream comes up even when the tablet is on mobile data or another Wi-Fi — through your own Tailscale account. Smoothness depends on the link in between.

Several tablets

More than one tablet can attach to the same Mac — each as an independent display, with its preferences stored on that device.

Portrait mode

Turn the tablet and the stream rotates to portrait without dropping. Ideal for reading code and documents.

Even while locked

The stream keeps running while the Mac is locked or its lid is shut; wake it from the tablet and carry on where you left off.

Relative pointer in games

The Mac pointer extends one-to-one; relative mouse movement works in games, and when the Mac hides the cursor it is hidden on the tablet too.

Tablet lock

Pin the tablet to the stream while it runs — one click from the Mac when you step away from the desk.

Collects no data

No account, no analytics, no tracking SDK. The picture flows straight between your Mac and your tablet.

Who it is for

Three typical setups.

The same app, three different desks.

A second screen beside the laptop

Put the tablet next to your MacBook: docs, terminal and messages live there while the main screen stays on the work. Since the tablet is outside the external monitor limit, it is added even when a monitor is already attached.

A headless Mac mini / Studio

Put the desktop Mac on the network and run it from the tablet — screen, touchpad and keyboard — without carrying a separate monitor, mouse or keyboard. It connects even while the Mac is locked.

Away from the desk

Connect from the sofa, from another room or from the road. Turn the tablet into a portrait reading screen; away from home it works the same way through your own encrypted tunnel.

Getting started

Three steps, a few minutes.

Codeyzer Screen is two apps: one on the Mac, one on the tablet.

  1. Install the Mac app

Download the DMG, move Codeyzer Screen into your Applications folder and open it.

  2. Install the tablet app

Join the open test on Google Play or Huawei AppGallery and install it.

  3. Connect

Plug in the USB cable, or open both on the same Wi-Fi network — the tablet appears on the Mac as a new display.

On the first connection Codeyzer Screen measures the smoothest settings for your device and saves them; later sessions start straight from there.

On a desktop Mac?

Put your Mac mini or Studio on Ethernet and run it from the tablet — screen, touchpad and keyboard — without carrying a separate monitor, mouse or keyboard.

Download

Install it on your computer and on your tablet, then connect over a USB cable (or on the same Wi-Fi).

Codeyzer Screen is two apps — Mac + tablet, and you need both. The tablet app is offered as an open test on Google Play and Huawei AppGallery — anyone can join, and it is free during the test.

Up front

  • A cable is the smoothest path. We do not present Wi-Fi as the equal of a cable — the result follows your Mac’s network connection and the capacity of your tablet’s hardware video decoder.
  • If your tablet cannot decode HEVC, the stream is set up with AVC instead, on its own; there is no setting for you to find.
  • Free during the open test. We plan a paid version in later releases, and we will announce it before pricing comes into effect.
